Don't Call it a Comeback

Greetings and Welcome!!

Last week I saw a post on social media that stated, “Start where you left off” and that is exactly what I am here to do. However it seems like, it was just yesterday since my last entry but it has actually been a few years. So, I don’t know if I should re-introduce myself or just welcome you back.

How about, I just do both!!

To sum it up, I am a southern girl from the capital city of Alabama however; I have the desire of living the big city life. But somehow, I have found myself living in a northern suburban area. I find great joy in serving others as God sees fit for me to do so; in which I like to say that I have a servant’s heart. I also have a huge heart for people; specifically for girls and the family unit as a whole. I have served for years in the Human/Social Services career field in the area of Family and Children’s Protective Services; in which I continue to do. In addition, I serve as a Notary Public, a Pink Zebra Independent Consultant, and an Avon Representative.

Believe it or not, I have also served in the United States Army as well as the Alabama Army National Guard. I have a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Faulkner University and a Masters of Arts degree in Children’s and Family Ministry from Bethel Seminary.

In addition, I have held the title Miss Alabama Plus America 2015 with the platform of ‘Building Confidence by Conquering Fear’ which was inspired by my nonprofit organization called SpoilDiva, Inc. I have also served as the Executive Director of the Miss Teen Montgomery Pageant in Montgomery, AL; served as a co-host on the Chillin with China Show on the Tracy Larkin Broadcasting Network (TLBN); and modeled with The Chinadoll's Modeling Agency. I have also authored and self-published the book, The Voice of Silence: From Brokenness to Wholeness which is available on Amazon and Amazon Kindle.

I know I know ... seems like I have a lot on my plate and you may be wondering when I have time to simply enjoy life. Well, there are a lot of things that I like to do for fun such as taking road trips, shopping, baking, doing DIY projects, catching up on television shows, braiding hair, playing with my dog and spending time with my family and friends.

Here lately, I have been rebuilding my love hate relationship with working out and being more intentional in spending time in God’s word; which brings me so much peace and comfort especially during the health pandemic that we are currently faced with. With that said, my heart and prayers go out to those who have loss love ones during this time. I am also praying for all of our essential employees, myself included, as we continue to serve our communities. In addition, as we adjust to our new normal, I want to remind you that you are not alone; we are in this together!

Welcome back or should I say, Welcome to The G.L.A.M. Room!!!!

Thank you so much for joining me on this blogging journey. As I have mentioned in previous entries, I love writing and I find it to be a great outlet. But obviously, I have fallen off the bandwagon … However, I am back!! With that said, I am so excited to welcome and introduce you the GLAM Room!!!

A few years ago, in 2016, after relocating, I received a word in my spirit to start The G.L.A.M. Room. So, I did but not really in the aspects in which I believe God intended. I started it as an online boutique to sale clothes which then turned into me just selling jewelry. After realizing that sales and marketing is not my area of expertise, I figured that I could just turn the business into a consulting company. I figured it was a great idea as I had became the go to person in helping my friends start their own businesses; in which they are thriving in their endeavors. However, here I am again with another unsuccessful business idea; so I decided to just let it all go. In fact, I kind of gave up on my desire of becoming an entrepreneur; if I can be honest.

So, as I was taking the time to focus on myself and to adjust to everything I had going on, I began to spend more time in deep study reading my Bible and taking notes in my journal. It was then that I received The G.L.A.M. Room again in my spirit. However, this time instead of diving in, I took the time to pray about it and ask God what He wanted me to do with it. It was then that God placed the words, Grace, Love, and Mercy in heart with the following Bible scriptures; Ephesians 4:7 NIV, 1 John 4:19 NIV, 1 Corinthians 3:23 NIV, and Matthew 5:7 NIV.

In studying the Bible verses and reflecting on my personal experiences, I thought that maybe I needed to write another book but not in poetry form; more so in a narrative story in order to share my journey. I would receive titles and topics which I jotted down often but every time I sat down to write, I could never organize my thoughts to begin to tell the story. Until recently, I was reminded of my website and the blog that I had started and somehow walked away from. So without further ado, I present to you The G.L.A.M. Room!!!

The G.L.A.M. Room is my new lifestyle blog where I will be discussing a little bit of everything from beauty, fashion, fitness, home decor, building healthy relationships, and so much more. But more importantly, I will be sharing my spiritual journey as the The G.L.A.M. Room was inspired by what I consider to be my personal spiritual foundation; grace, love, and mercy. Therefore, it is my goal to use this opportunity and space as a means to encourage your faith, promote spiritual growth, and to meet you where you are through God’s Grace, Love, and Mercy.

It is also my goal to share more than often; at least once a week to hold myself more accountable. With that said, it is my hope that as you are touched by my entries, that you will share them with others as well as share your thoughts and comments. I am really excited about starting where I left off and I am looking forward to connecting with you and praying with you along the journey.

Many Blessings

JessNicole
